KellyKelly McCook Hiers

Kelly knew as a child that she had a desire to help others.  She laughed as she said “My poor dolls had their hair washed and styled weekly.”  When asked what she wanted to do when she grew up, she would always reply “I wanna go to beauty school.”  Little did she know where that dream would take her.  Upon graduating from Mary Persons High School in 1998, Kelly attended Cosmoknowledge in Macon, Ga and went on to perfect her skills as a Stylist.

With more that 10 years of experience, Kelly has obtained many certifications including Licensed Master Cosmetologist, Great Lengths Extension Specialist and Holly Doss Cosmetic Make-up Artist to name a few.  When asked what the future holds, Kelly replied “My goal is to further my education and always stay up-to-date with the latest styles and trends while maintaining my relationships with my clients, friends, and co-workers.”

CrystalCrystal Pastor

Crystal started her career in the beauty industry as a senior in high school.  She started working at Merle Norman as a certified Beauty Advisor.  Crystal said “it was working their where I really found a love for this industry!”  After graduation from Mary Persons High School in 2003, Crystal went on to pursue her cosmetologist license at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC).

While in school she apprenticed at small salon, perfecting the skills she was being taught. “I became increasingly interested in the art of hair coloring just after graduating from CGTC” says Crystal.  With that interest, Crystal attended countless Hair Symposiums and started taking classes from Redken to perfect the art of hair color. Crystal is now a certified Holly Doss make-up artist and is looking forward to working in this area as well.  Crystal is genuine when she says “My job is my passion and it makes me come alive; I know that I will be in this industry one way or another for the rest of my career.”

JosieJosie Pena

Josie was born to style hair. She remembers getting to trouble for cutting off all the hair on her play dolls and using everything from markers to food coloring to “dye” their hair. “Well, 16 years later I am still at it” says Josie. Josie attributes much of her success to salon owner Kelly Hiers. With Kelly’s 13+ years of experience, she took Josie under her wing and helped her learn. “She has taught me a lot of what I know now and helped me to grow as a stylist” says Josie. Commenting on her style, Josie says “I have a flare for bright color and contrary to popular belief love long hair but also enjoy the challenge of a short pixie cut!”

BrandiBrandi Evans

Brandi always dreamed of doing hair as a child. She would go to the salon with her grandmothers. The salon owners would always let her do miscellaneous jobs while she waited. She would then go home and practice on her baby dolls. She never got in trouble for cutting her doll’s hair. However, she did get in trouble for cutting her own.

Brandi was so excited after graduating from MPHS to attend College of Cosmeknowledge in Macon, Ga. After graduating from there, she worked in Macon for two years. Then, Brandi became blessed with her first child. She decided to spend time with her family. While doing so, she was employed with Monroe County Bank. She worked there for eight years. Brandi decided it was time to pursue her dreams again and join the awesome ladies at WMS. She feels blessed and happy everyday meeting new clients and sending everyone out the door with a smile. As a stylist, Brandi will always keep up on the latest styles and be available for all of your needs.

Erika Mercer

Erika has always had a desire to work in the beauty industry. During her senior year at Mary Persons she participated in the work base learning program and worked at West Mane Salon as a receptionist. All of the stylist at West Mane instilled in her the love and desire to make people happy. Erika enrolled in Gordon College but soon knew that was not going to fulfill her. She finished core classes, but immediately enrolled in Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin, Ga and began their Cosmetology program.

After obtaining her cosmetology license, Erika returned to West Mane as a stylist. She knew immediately that is what she wanted to do. Erika says that the most remarkable day in the salon for her so far was “the day a new client cried after looking in the mirror”. She was so happy with her new look that it immediately made her feel beautiful and renewed her self-image. Erika knew at that moment she had made the right career choice.
